A LED 3D TV REVIEW: SONY XBR LX900

When 3D TVs started, the SONY Company never failed to release their new model. In fact, Sony Company is one of the early companies to present their 3D televisions in the public. Among the 3D TVs that Sony has presented, the XBR LX900 is never different.  When it comes to how televisions look and perform, Sony Electronics is again setting a new standard for the development of its company. 2010 BRAVIA LCD HDTVs were introduced by Sony which are 3DTVs having a stylish Monolithic Design Concept making it more innovative. Plus, these 3D HDTVs uses the LED Backlighting technology.

Sony XBR LX900 delivers integrated 3D functionality with Sony’s 3D active shutter glasses and built in transmitter. These active shutter glasses work together with Sony’s propriety high frame rate technology reproducing full high definition 3D images. This television will blend into the home’s interior because it possesses simple flush, viewing surface with crisp edges and a smooth border. Viewers are allowed to focus completely on beautiful on screen images without any distraction from decorative elements which are unnecessary. A more natural and comfortable viewing experience is also offered with a unique six degree upward tilt option.

This television’s EDGE LED Backlighting technology delivers the deepest blacks and the brilliant whites. With its outstanding contrast ratio, this television can impress people not only when they are presenting beautiful and stunning images but also when it is not in used and it is turned off because it complements any home décor.

There is also a built in WiFi (802.11) that allows easy access to BRAVIA internet videos, widgets and personal content through DLNA or what we call Digital Living Network Alliance certified home networks. Once you are connected, you can have access to thousands of streaming movies, videos, music and more from different providers through the Sony BRAVIA Internet Video Platform. With a touch of a button, you can also have access on the latest weather, news, USA Today sports, Yahoo Finance, Twitter, Flickr photos and FrameChannel through small applications called BRAVIA Internet Widgets. You can modify where you want to locate your different widgets on your HDTV screen for a custom viewing experience.

It also has a Motionflow PRO 240Hz motion compensation technology producing smooth images in fast moving content like sports and action movies. With 240 Hs refresh rate, mixing of images of 3D content assigned to the left eye and right eye is reduced. Another feature is the Bravia Engine 3 which is a full video processor that uses a collection of enhanced algorithms to significantly reduce noise, improved overall image detail and optimize contrast so every scene produced has vibrant, sharp and life like images.

OptiContrast panel is a new feature incorporated in Sony XBR LX900. This feature minimizes the reflection and refraction of external and internal light producing deeper images with superior black levels even in bright rooms. With this technology you don’t have to view in a dark room just to avoid reflections and refractions. This technology is designed with a clear surface treatment and a resin sheet which is sandwiched between the LCD display panel and the glass plate.

With the DLNA certified network connection and USB feature, you can playback your personal contents including videos, digital pictures and music.

Sony XBR LX900 has an Intelligent Presence Sensor with face detection. It can detect if you moved away from the television or you are not watching the screen. Once it has detected, it will cause the television to activate dimming of its backlight. After an extended period, the television will turn off if no one has re entered the viewing area. This dude really is intelligent helping you save energy and money! Two more things to add on this feature is its Intelligent Presence Sensor which detects the position of the viewer to deliver optimized video and sound balance and its Distance Alert Feature which helps to keep small children at an eye friendly distance.
