PICTURE, QUALITY AND ISSUES
Hey folks! Here’s another set of inquiries concerning picture quality and issues related to Sony Plasma Television.
The television has poor picture quality having fuzzy, blurry, pixelized or out of focus pictures.
- There are a variety of factors which can influence poor picture quality. This includes the type of connection to the television and the signal source. There are also other factors including the television settings, electrical devices in close proximity to the television (computers) and connection issues with the signal source. Here are some steps to do trouble shooting of issues related to poor picture quality.
- You must note however that if a model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps below, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the TV.
- Turn off any electrical or battery-operated devices that may be creating radio frequency (RF) interference.
- *Vacuum cleaners, fluorescent and halogen lights, and some battery-operated devices (including toys) have been known to create RF interference.
- If your TV has a Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) function, turn this feature on.
- If your TV has a Digital Reality Creation (DRC) feature, try turning it off or on.
- If your TV has a Sharpness or Picture Mode setting, try adjusting these options.
- If you have a projection TV, try adjusting the convergence of the picture tubes.
- Try plugging the power cord into a different electrical outlet and/or surge protector.
- Here are some important key points: you can request a high definition cable or satellite set-top box from your service provider if your television is high definition. Set you cable or satellite set-top box to 1080i fixed resolution for best picture quality.
- The quality of the picture is determined by the type of connection from your set-top box. If you want the best picture quality, you can request a set-up box with an HDMI connection. Component video is the second best choice.
- The quality of the program is controlled by the broadcaster. Some programs are broadcast in high definition (HD), while other programs are broadcast in standard definition (SD), even on HD stations. SD content on HD channels does not create an HD picture. The quality of the picture you see also depends on the type of camera used when the original recording was made.
